It was hectic ride to Mussoorie but it was worth it. We both enjoyed the adventure. We completed all the government formalities and booked our hotels.
Day1
Loaded one sack to the bike and left for the destination. While travelling we met many people who may be thinking us crazy but very curious about our bike and our trip. On our 1st night stay hotel manager charged us extra for charging the battery. I was furious as the charging takes hardly 4 units and I think one should not charge for that (as we were paying for our stay) also that hotel management was rude and pathetic.
Day2
Next day we stopped for charging at Abdul an E- rickshaw driver. He and his family were very hospitable and genuinely helped us. Then we stopped at Okinawa showroom in Roorkee where owner of the showroom Mr. Himanshu Verma was very supportive and didn’t asked us for any charging amount instead he insist us to come back for charging while going back. Then we stopped at a pahadi family of my husband’s friend who accompanied us from Ghaziabad. They give us very homely treatment which I was missing for last 6 months as we were away from our native land and our family. They pampered us with delicious food and hospitality. Riding in the hills at night was dreadful as we didn’t know the road and we were too tired, especially my back was hurting a lot; but luckily the road condition was good. We reached our Hotel late in night around 11PM. Check-in was smooth and hotel staff was good. We crashed on to bed as soon as we entered our room.
Day3
Next day we walked to famous Lovely Omelet on mall road. There are only 4-5 points in Mussoorie but the weather was great. We went to Mall road, George Everest point, Lama & Buddha Temple.
On 3rd and 4th day, we rode from Mussoorie, to Landour and to the Kempty village.
In Landour we explored Lal Tibba and enjoyed our dinner at Café Ivy with great sunset views. The road to Landour was too steep. It was a task to ride the bike on the Lal Tibba. While going downhill to Mussoorie I was experiencing roller coaster ride on the bike.
Day 4
At Kempty village there is a waterfall. We didn’t enjoy the falls because of the fear of Covid-19; but it was open and people in the 20OC enjoying the cold water. Ride to the falls was really great. Weather was chilling.
While coming back to Gurgaon we met Raman and Saumya. We stopped there to say Hello and share our experience. The couple own EV and ride to different cities. So they told us there crazy adventure stories and fed us with nice home food. Coming back to home was easy as people like Raman-Saumya, and Mr.Himanshu helped us a lot.
Riding back home we had a great experience great back pain which we could not get without our Electric bike. But truly this experience thought me many things. Patience, we can’t control or plan all the situations and hence acceptance to. We met many people while riding E Bike who asked us basic questions about bike and blessed us for the trip (which made our day!). This was our first and may be last trip of about 300km on our EV. We will plan trip but may be in 200km radius. Let’s see!
After meeting Raman and Saumya I thought we should plan another trip maybe we can meet such wonderful people and have a great experience. And as Ruskin Bond famous author says “The pleasure of travel is in the journey & not so much in reaching one’s destination. Destinations are rarely live up to the traveler’s expectations.”
