Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla

Hello
Sri Lanka is very beautiful country. It is very peaceful country and loaded with natural beauty. The mesmerizing island nation, in the southernmost part of India; where the azure waters of the Indian Ocean enclose it on all sides; covering an area 65,610 sq. km. Ancient ruins, friendly folks, loads of elephants, infinite beaches, rolling waves, renowned tea, economic prices, enjoyable trains, and appetizing delicious food make Sri Lanka irresistible. We visited Colombo, Kandy, Sigiriya (Dambulla), Nuwara Eliya, Galle. The people in Sri Lanka are very generous and helpful. The culture is very rich.
We entered Sigiriya town in evening. We stayed in Hotel Kashyapa Kingdom, a cute home stay. The property is well maintained by a couple. We checked in & after freshening up we came to this super calm location from our hotel's restaurant. Sky was clear with so many glittering stars and the view of Sigiriya rock. It was super romantic. The stars were shining & showering all the love. We were seeing our next morning’s destination for the first time & it was just majestic.
I couldn't take this image in my camera but I tried to illustrate it.
ये रातें ये मौसम नदी का किनारा ये चंचल हवा,
कहा दो दिलो ने कि मिलकर कभी हम ना होंगे जुदा!

Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. The palace is located in the heart of the island between the towns of Dambulla and Habarane on a massive rocky plateau 370 meters above the sea level. The fortress complex includes remnants of a ruined palace, surrounded by an extensive network of fortifications, vast gardens, ponds, canals, alleys and fountains. Our driver told us many mystery stories about Sigiriya Rock. Besides these stories as an architect I loved this place for an unmatched combination of urban planning, water engineering, horticulture and arts.
